Fiona Brown, also known by her married name Fiona Rattray, is a Scottish based artist specialising in modern contemporary art. Her glorious paintings make bold use of her natural subjects, painted in various media on unframed wood panels. Based in rural Perthshire, Scotland Fiona uses her surroundings to influence and inspire her work.

" I derive much of my inspiration from the natural world; the landscape that surrounds me, an intimate flower, the changing elements, sunlight on the bark of a tree, oystercatchers in the fields, the human figure, Pictish stones and ancient cave paintings. My desire is not to represent exactly what I see but to develop it into a dynamic composition. "
